The Barnardo's Bandwagon concert featured ELO Part II, Roy Wood, Ruby Turner, Edwin Starr, Tom Robinson, Jasper Carrott and others.

He told a local paper afterwards "I almost broke down and cried after I came off stage.It's been a long time since I played for such a marvellous crowd"
